Purpose and objective
To promote, encourage and organise the sport in the district.
To provide facilities for the pursuance of the sport in the district.
Administrative and financial constitution
- The committee shall be elected from the club membership. The minimum
of three being Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary. In addition, the
posts of Vice Chairman, Public Relations Officer, and Competition
Secretary will be elected. One member will be elected as Safety Officer. This
post may be combined with one of the other posts on the committee.
- A minimum of three Committee members will form a quorum.
- The Annual General Meeting of the club shall take place during
the month of November each year. The agenda of the A.G.M. must provide
for the election of the committee members and for alterations to the
constitution and rules as proposed, seconded and voted on by the club
members.
- Any three members of the Committee or five club members may call
an extraordinary General Meeting for any of these circumstances :-
- The club being disbanded.
- The resignation of the Chairman, Secretary
or the treasurer.
- Any vote of confidence in the Committee
- The keeping of the financial records will be the responsibility
of the treasurer. Any club members may, upon request to the Chairman,
Secretary or the Treasurer, inspect the records.
- A senior non-committee member appointed by other senior non-committee
members must audit the club financial records each year. The audit
should be completed at least two weeks in advance of the A.G.M.
- In the event of the club being disbanded and after all club debts
have been discharged, any remaining monies will be equally divided
up between all fully paid up senior members at the date of disbandment.
- The annual senior and junior membership and joining fees for the
next financial year will be agreed at the A.G.M. and must be paid
before the end of the current calendar year. Junior members must be
under the age of 18 at the commencement of the next year.
- The Committee reserve the right to increase the fees during a current
year by request to the club members at any club meeting. A notice
of a fee increase thereby agreed will be sent to all members and must
be paid within thirty days of the notice date for membership of the
club to be retained.
- All new senior members upon joining the club will pay a joining
fee. During a current year, a new joining member will pay membership
fee on a pro rata quarterly basis for the remainder of the current
year, and the joining fee.
- Club members wishing to suspend their membership for one year
may do so. They shall be placed at the top of the waiting list. If
they wish to re-activate their membership in the following year, there
will be no joining fee. If membership is not renewed in the first
year following suspension, membership will have be deemed to have
lapsed and usual non-member joining conditions apply.
- Junior members in full time education past their 18th birthday
can, at the discretion of the committee have their junior membership
extended until they leave full time education or reach their 21st
birthday, whichever is earlier.
- The committee may, by majority vote at a committee meeting, expel
a club member for any of the following :- Failure to pay any extra
fee as in clause 9 above, the abuse of the club facilities, bringing
the club into disrepute, or failure to observe club rules.
- A member accused of misconduct must be warned in writing before
any disciplinary action that may result in expulsion from the club.
Members expelled will not have their fees refunded.
- In addition to the normal running expenses of the club, the committee
may spend an additional five hundred pounds per annum, on expenditure
that is in the bone fide interests of the club, without referring
to the club members.
Voting
Only senior club members may vote. Proxy
votes received by the secretary before a meeting will be allowed.
In the event of a tied vote at a meeting, the chairman of the meeting,
having voted, will have a casting vote. Proposals will be carried
by a simple majority.
