    A word of warning.
We had a problem this week when one member lost his key. It was used to open the gate and not needed to lock up with. When it was found to be missing, it could have been lost anywhere, or maybe left in the padlock. We had several days of worry as we are liable for the full cost of replacement keys and padlocks. All would have to be changed in the event of loss.
Fortunately the key was found by Ken in the grass after the mower ran over it.

Please be very careful in looking after your gate key. It was suggested to keep it on you car keys. You are not going anywhere without them.

This incident could have cost the club many hundreds of pounds.

As a semi lapsed member I don't often visit the website (or the flying field, sadly). Congratulations on the new format, it's good on the eye and very easy to use. Keep it up.

looked at this club website. as a founder member, chairman from day 1,
the club was actually founded in early 1972, first meetings, i think were in a social club hut in the middle of Great Hollands.

    Dear Sirs

Just a little note to respectfully ask if you would circulate my particulars to your club members.

I have been making foam wings for almost twenty years and offer competitive prices for unique own designs, plans or kit replacement wings. You may also have seen my adverts in the model magazines and currently in the BMFA journal.

As a rough guide to price, a simple wing of 56” – 62” span will cost £35.00 including post and packaging. It will be made from medium density white foam, covered in grade “A” obechi with fibreglass joining tape also included as standard. As you know some wings are more complex than others and require holes for servos, wires, spars etc. They may be made from white or blue foam. I can also supply any wood required for the leading or trailing edges, undercarriage blocks, dowels, linkages for the ailerons etc, in fact everything for the wing.

I can also supply floats for seaplanes or foam sections for fuselages.

Payment can be made by either credit card or cheque and discounts are available should your club members require a few at the same time.

Pleas check out my website: www.billkits.com and e-mail: bpmanley@aol.com or phone: 01763 244397 for a quotation.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing from your club.

    Kind regards

    Bill Manley

p.s. I originally started out with a small range of kits, which are still available today including, 2 Fun Fly’s, a little twin and 5 sport scale models.

Now that the flying season is fast approaching, I would suggest members re-aquaint themselves with the club handbook. Especially with regards to pit etiquete and layout. On more than one occasion recently I have arrived to fly with no-one else at the field. I then set myself up at the end of the pits. One particular member seems to insist on setting up between me and the end of the pit area, So close as to make my life a misery.
If you want to pile your models up please do so in the proper place.

Especially as there is more than enough room to set up in the correct place.
This might sound a bit OTT but If you read the BMFA handbook, they reccommend pit areas are not crowded as this can lead to unsafe situations.
When I am flying an IC powered model I would like a bit of room to pick it up and carry it out to the flightline without worrying about who I might turn into.
Please have some consideration for your fellow pilots. There is room for us all.

All members should by now have received their membership and BMFA (if required) cards. Could you let me know if you haven't received anything yet.
    Many thanks.
